Here at Promise PR & Design we thought what better way to build up a stronger rapport with our clients, and to give our potential clients an insight into the wonderful world at Promise, than by keeping them up-to-date with what goes on behind the closed doors in our offices… so we decided to start a newsletter that will feature on our website bi-monthly.

This will give you a chance to keep tabs on us… which new clients do we have? How have we done with existing clients? Who is working with us? And if you want any other information then all you have to do is ask.

This month we are going to look at several changes at Promise, starting with our new offices…

Promising new offices… overlooking the Faversham terrace!

Yes that’s right we have moved to more central Leeds, in to a series of offices above the fabulous Faversham bar & restaurant. There’s never a shortage of people passing through although it can be tough on a Friday afternoon when we see those part-timers casually sipping their beers on the beautiful terrace while we’re working hard but it leaves us with no excuse but to have a quick drink after work.

Our offices are located next door to Teabag studios, a successful web design business with whom we have formed a mutually beneficial business partnership with. There are numerous other brilliant companies with offices above the Faversham too, so we feel very privileged to be here.

Promise PR takes on Leeds English Graduate

We have recently taken on Amy Gregory, a Leeds University graduate, to do three months worth of work experience with us.

Amy read English at the University of Leeds and has always had an interest in PR and Marketing. She has done various other stints of work experience in the marketing and editorial departments of Quintiles in Bracknell and Medicom in Hampton Court, which reinforced her interest in the profession. As a huge fan of Leeds she fits in nicely here and it also gives her a chance to swap the quietness of the Peak District with the hustle and bustle of Leeds.

Stunning Summer Coverage

What a fabulous summer we’ve had, what with Promise getting a full page of coverage for James Steward in the Yorkshire Evening Post. James is a 31 year old Leeds based internationally recognised couture clothing designer and was named Yorkshire Brides Couture Designer 2007 at an awards ceremony held at the Pavilions of Harrogate last month. Quite an achievement, well done to one of our favourite clients.

Linden Veitch has been another name that crops up regularly in our office chit chat. The entrepreneurial Harrogate businesswoman has been keeping us busy the last few months, her Mastermind Roundtables have provided businessmen and women the opportunity to meet on a regular basis to discuss the issues and challenges that are holding back their businesses from progressing.

We’ve also begun to manage the PR for Wildside Lodges, beautiful idyllic lodges situated in the middle of the Scottish highlands, near Loch Ness, Emily Carrie our MD is going for a three night break this weekend as they just looked so irresistibly relaxing for her! They have received coverage in 69, J-Life and Northside magazines. However it is the Yorkshire Post coverage that we are most proud of as this gets Wildside in front of 262,000 readers.

Promise PR wins new business

Now I’m sure many of you will have heard of David Lloyd Leisure? And if not you should have! This sensational health and fitness centre in Leeds is home to a wide variety of facilities including a gymnasium, pool, child care options and children’s clubs, comedy nights, conference rooms and spas. The manager of the Leeds branch, Simon, is very happy with our work so far and with Promise being situated above the Faversham, with the delicious aromas of their gourmet burgers drifting in through the window, it is most definitely a good thing to have a good quality gym at hand!

Message from Lucas

Possibly the most important member of the Promise PR & Design team is Lucas.

Lucas’ marketing tip of the month of September is:

‘Talk is cheap’

According to Lucas, networking events are the key to being successful in the PR industry. There is a small fee for attendance and it is well worth putting your hand in your pocket to go along, meet new people and talk freely about your business. They tend to be much more constructive than the all too demoralising sales calls and they are more personal as you can meet people on a one-to-one basis.

Lucas recommends the following three networking events:

1. The Business Women’s Breakfast Club

2. Forward Ladies

3. The Met Club (Harrogate)

Why not have a look for yourself and see what you think!!
