It’s time for the Promise newsletter to return again! Since September we have been remarkably busy, getting new clients on board, new students in and even venturing into the telesales market with a high profile project from our clients, GHD.

Here’s a little run down on what we’ve been up to in the last few month; there’s something of an environmentally friendly and health conscious theme to our recent work making us feel less guilty about over indulging and spending money in the run up to Christmas. Special Offer

We are very privileged to have in Bradford as one of our clients. offer a variety of printing, design, website and marketing opportunites varying from offering ‘business bundle’ stationery orders to companies of all sizes, to designing signature Eid cards for the Asian community. The business is located in the heart of Bradford’s Bangladeshi community and one of the biggest clients is the Muslim Funeral Service. use vegetable based inks and minimise paper waste to try and do their bit for the environment which fits in with they very green philosophy at Promise which makes the partnership even stronger. Director of John Coulter and our MD Emily get on very well and had a real giggle at a photo shoot this week as you can see from our photograph of them at John’s office. Bradford is offering companies 10% off any order placed if you mention Emily Carrie of Promise PR so check out their website and see if there is anything that interests you…

British Olympic Athletes Training at David Lloyd

We’ve achieved fantastic coverage for David Lloyd Leeds including a variety of lucky people winning a year’s free membership at the Health Club via our well placed competitions in a variety of local lifestyle magazines. Congratulations guys!

We’ve also had a piece in the Yorkshire Evening Post about marathon runner Tracey Morris (the Olympic athlete in training for the Beijing Olympics) working out on David Lloyd’s state of the art technology gymnasium.

World Class tennis player Andy Murray has been seen training at the Club on various occasions too, enjoying the nine luxury courts the Centre has to offer.

With the star studded Health and Fitness Centre receiving so much publicity things are certainly on the up.

Promise PR Win Online Boutique Client

Betty and Jeff – Talented Fashion Designers on Board with Promise

Betty and Jeff are an exclusive online boutique that specialises in handcrafted jewellery, accessories, gifts and their very own unique collection for men, re-fashioning man bags.

The brainchild behind Betty & Jeff is Sarah Jane Robertson, a graphic design consultant from Edinburgh who now lives in Leeds. The 23 year old entrepreneur’s aim is to enhance the profile of the artists featured on the site such as Emma Burton who has previously worked for Alexander McQueen and sold her textile designs to DKNY. Another designer, Catherine Aitken has seen her Harris Tweed handbags adorning many celebrities. Alongside these designers Sarah is also aiming to help graduates from local universities by showcasing and selling their work on her website.

Said Sarah: “The website is unique because it displays a range of items for men, women and the home that are designed and handmade to perfection and rare also. This allows me to showcase British talent whilst using my own design skills.”

The website includes a range of environmentally friendly items made with biodegradable fabrics which allows the green goddesses of Yorkshire to shop with a clean conscience.

A variety of items made from Harris Tweed are also on the website. Harris Tweed is a Scottish fabric close to Sarah’s heart, which is now difficult to come by in the vibrant colours she stocks, and a must have for the fashion conscious who want to have unique and individual items.

We are currently working putting a competition together so you can get your hands on some of their beautiful pieces.

New Students Showing Promise

At Promise we are working closely with the PR department and from Leeds Metropolitan University to offer students work experience to enhance their experience and give them an insight into the world of PR.

We are always on the lookout for talented individuals who stand out from the crowd to come and give us a helping hand in our offices. So get in touch with Emily if this applies to you.

At the end of November we are saying a sad farewell to our current graduate Amy but a warm welcome to our new students, Nick and Kay who no doubt will carry on the good work.

GHD – But Not The Hair Straighteners

When we were contacted by a gentleman from GHD interested in our services the first thought that crossed our minds was free hair straighteners!

But it turned out to be an international professional services company, who we are very grateful to have been given the chance to do some work for. This is where our telesales experience came in as we needed to secure the attendance of professionals to a seminar held by the colleagues at GHD in the hope of helping with their branding and increasing the public’s awareness of them as a thriving firm.

It was a long job but worth it in the end when we managed to get through all 500 calls and successfully fill all the places at the seminar.

Moor Valley Gardens Win Top Awards

The owners of Wildside Highland Lodges in Scotland also own the gardens at Moor Valley Leisure situated in Hawksworth, just outside Leeds. They were awarded The Yorkshire in Bloom Award and the Leeds in Bloom Award which were awarded to them by the Lord Mayor of Leeds. The picturesque gardens attract many garden enthusiasts to Moor Valley Leisure and Justine and Jason Hudson are very proud of their achievements with Wildside doing so well too.

Emily Judging Prestigious Recruitment Awards

Our Managing Director, Emily Carrie, was very flattered to be asked to judge the prestigious Yorkshire Post Recruitment Awards at Elland Road a few weeks ago. Due to her outstanding marketing knowledge and prevailing reputation in Leeds she seemed like the ideal candidate. Emily found the standard very high and thoroughly enjoyed judging the awards on the back of all her specialised HR & recruitment PR experience.

Message From Lucas

Possibly the most important member of the Promise PR & Design team is Lucas.

The tip of the month from Lucas in December is:

‘Stop working over Christmas and enjoy time with your family’.

We work to live but it is important to get the balance right and the holiday season is time to spend with your loved ones, relax and indulge, so go on… put your feet up, eat lots of mince pies and have a good one.

Merry Christmas from all the team at Promise PR.
