The New Year looks set be an exciting and busy year here at Promise. We have already acquired a large workload from our new and existing clients, leaving distant memories of excessive mince pie consumption in the past.  So let’s start firstly by looking at one of our existing clients Betty & Jeff….

Passion for fashion (and PR):

betty and jeff

We’ve been managing a hugely successful campaign for our online boutique client Betty & Jeff. Working hard for our client we were able to achieve stunning coverage on both a national and local scale. Accessories available from the Betty & Jeff website have received coverage from The Sunday Times Style Magazine, The News of the World- Sunday supplement and The Daily Mail Weekend. Not forgetting that entrepreneur Sarah Jane Robertson lives in Leeds, we have gained coverage in a number of different local lifestyle magazines. We have recently run a competition in the local media, offering one lucky reader the chance to win a gorgeous pink tweed corsage with a beautiful matching pink bow clutch by local designer Katherine Emtage. Our expertise in the consumer sector of PR has helped us to raise awareness and attract more customers to the Betty & Jeff online boutique showcasing the local talent furthermore.

Promise PR has expensive taste:

The team at Promise have enjoyed getting their teeth stuck into new client Croma Restaurant over the past couple of months. Croma is a beautiful pizzeria in the heart of Leeds City Centre serving gourmet Italian food in ultra stylish surroundings. We are delighted to be working for such an exciting and alternative restaurant (not to mention the yummy perks).

We have been working on one of our most exciting projects yet with Croma. You’d think that a pizza menu couldn’t get anymore innovative than at Croma restaurant, where toppings range from Peking duck to smoked haddock, but no, this was not creative enough for Croma director Nick McNally. After a trip to the South of France the Croma team returned with the famous black truffles (the fungal equivalent of caviar).  Fortunately Croma still houses its original bank volts as the building used to belong to the Bank of Ireland and the black truffles are so valuable that the vaults are now used to keep the truffles under lock and key for insurance purposes.

Promise PR managed an extremely successful VIP event, where the local media were invited along to try a variety of seasonal recipes created using the Black Truffle. Overall the event was a hit, the media went away well fed, and feedback was extremely positive. This resulted in a large amount of complimentary press coverage for Croma restaurant.

We are working very hard to ensure further coverage for our client Croma in the forms of press releases and competitions. For more information on Croma please visit:

Promise’s hard work for Wildside Lodges pays off:

wildsideDue to our outstanding PR achievements in 2007 we will continue to work for our client Wildside Lodges into 2008. Our client Justine Hudson, told us that our great efforts and numerous PR campaigns made a huge difference to the number of bookings and lodgings. We are continuing our hard work this year and are currently in the process of creating competitions to feature in lifestyle magazines nationwide as well as a series of press releases.

Getting fit in the North:

lloydsAs we are managing such a successful project for David Lloyd in Leeds we have been approached by more David Lloyd Clubs. The team at Promise PR are thrilled to now be looking after David Lloyd Health and Fitness Clubs in Hull and Manchester.

Both clubs offer the very best in racquet, health & fitness facilities and activities. David Lloyd Hull has excellent tennis facilities with 7 luxury indoor and 5 outdoor all weather tennis courts. The Manchester branch has over 50 group exercise classes per week for all abilities making it an enjoyable place to keep fit.

We are managing advertisements and editorials for both branches. Competitions and editorials are appearing in stylish local magazines and the local press.

Emily Carrie, Managing Director of Promise PR said; “We are thrilled to be taken on as the PR agency in the North for David Lloyd. We will continue to work hard and help to improve sales and enquiries for the gym. At the end of the day PR is responsible for generating profit with the use of clever media exposure and this is what we are experts at here at Promise.”

Leeds Met Joins Forces with Promise PR:

#Promise PR has taken on two second year students studying PR at Leeds Metropolitan University. So far both students have been involved in all aspects of PR work including press release and competition writing, selling and issuing in. During the Croma Truffle Pizza launch both students helped to manage the journalists and the clients.

So let’s meet them and hear what they have to say about their work experience so far:

Colette Cordes, 19: “Having previously worked in the public sector I was a bit sceptical about what exactly agency work entailed. The vast amount of experience that I have gained from Promise PR so far has given me a valuable insight into the world of PR agencies. Being able to work with an extensive list of clients can be challenging at times, but it is also exciting and the end results are always very rewarding”

Alex Churton; “Working for Emily at Promise PR has helped me to understand how effective PR really can be. My hard work for Emily has resulted in a large amount of customer interest and enquiries to the local clients that I am representing. I believe PR is essential to any business and I look forward to continuing my career in PR”
